Shibuya Station’s A3 Exits are Near the Front-Right of 109! A3b is the Closest Exit to Center Gai
Shibuya Station’s A3 exits lead out near the front-right corner of the Shibuya 109 building, if you’re walking from Hachiko Mae Plaza towards 109. A3a is diagonally across from 109, and A3b is a short walk down a side street from there. This makes the A3b exit the closest to Center Gai.
If you’re coming from subway lines like the Hanzomon Line, you likely won’t get lost if you follow the A3 exit signs. However, if you’re coming from ground-level lines like the JR Line or Ginza Line, it’s easiest to aim for Shibuya 109 first.

How to Get to Shibuya Station’s A3 Exits (A3a, A3b) from Hachiko Mae
First, let’s look at how to get there from Hachiko Mae Plaza in front of Shibuya Station.
- From Hachiko Mae, cross the Scramble Crossing towards the TSUTAYA building with Starbucks.
- After crossing the intersection, turn left and walk towards Shibuya 109.
- Walk a short distance, and you’ll see a “Matsumoto Kiyoshi” drugstore at the front-right corner of 109.
- Pass Matsumoto Kiyoshi, and you’ll immediately see a building with Mizuho Bank. The A3a exit is in this Mizuho Bank building. If you turn right at Matsumoto Kiyoshi and walk a bit further, you’ll see the A6c exit past a vending machine on your left. The A3 exits are very close to Matsumoto Kiyoshi, and it only takes a few minutes to walk there from Hachiko Mae.

How to Get to A3 Exits (A3a, A3b) from JR Shibuya Station
When coming from JR Lines (such as the Yamanote Line or Shonan-Shinjuku Line), use the “Hachiko Exit”.
- Exit from the JR “Hachiko Ticket Gate”, then go outside from the nearby “Hachiko Exit”.
- After exiting from Hachiko Exit, walk straight ahead, and you’ll reach the “Scramble Crossing”. Cross the Scramble Crossing towards the TSUTAYA building with Starbucks.
- After crossing the intersection, turn left and walk towards Shibuya 109.
- Walk a short distance, and you’ll see a “Matsumoto Kiyoshi” drugstore at the front-right corner of 109.
- Pass Matsumoto Kiyoshi, and you’ll immediately see a building with Mizuho Bank. The A3a exit is in this Mizuho Bank building. If you turn right at Matsumoto Kiyoshi and walk a bit further, you’ll see the A6c exit past a vending machine on your left.
Once you exit the Hachiko Ticket Gate, you’ll see 109 directly in front of you, so walk towards it.
How to Get to A3 Exits (A3a, A3b) from Hanzomon Line / Den-en-toshi Line Shibuya Station
From the Hanzomon Line and Den-en-toshi Line, first aim for the “Dogenzaka Ticket Gate”.
- First, exit from the “Dogenzaka Ticket Gate”.
- After exiting the ticket gate, you’ll see an escalator and stairs in front of you. Go up one level to the B1F (Basement 1st Floor).
- Once you arrive at B1F, go around behind the escalator. You’ll see stairs to your left (both up and down stairs). Take the stairs that go up to reach the A3 exits. A3a is on your front left, and A3b is further back on the right.
From the Hanzomon Line / Den-en-toshi Line, you can reach the exits from the platform in about 2-3 minutes.
How to Get to A3 Exits (A3a, A3b) from Toyoko Line / Fukutoshin Line Shibuya Station
From the Toyoko Line and Fukutoshin Line, first move to the Den-en-toshi Line platform, then aim for the “Dogenzaka Ticket Gate”.
- When you arrive at Shibuya Station on the Toyoko Line / Fukutoshin Line, move up one floor from the platform.
- After getting off the escalator, follow the sign for “DT Den-en-toshi Line H Hanzomon Line” to head towards the Den-en-toshi Line platform.
- Upon reaching the Den-en-toshi Line platform, you’ll find an escalator leading to the “Dogenzaka Ticket Gate” at the very opposite end of the platform. Head for it.
- Move from the far end of the platform to the ticket gate level and exit from the “Dogenzaka Ticket Gate”.
- After exiting the ticket gate, you’ll see an escalator and stairs diagonally to your front-right. Go up one level to the B1F (Basement 1st Floor).
- Once you arrive at B1F, go around behind the escalator. You’ll see stairs to your left (both up and down stairs). Take the stairs that go up to reach the A3 exits. A3a is on your front left, and A3b is further back on the right.
From the Toyoko Line / Fukutoshin Line, you can reach the exits from the platform in about 2-3 minutes.
How to Get to A3 Exits (A3a, A3b) from Inokashira Line Shibuya Station
From the Inokashira Line, exit from the ticket gate marked with a yellow sign: “Exit (Chuo-guchi)”.
- First, exit from the “Chuo-guchi” ticket gate.
- Immediately after exiting, there’s an escalator diagonally to your front-left. Take this down to ground level.
- Once you get off the escalator, turn left immediately. You’ll see a pachinko parlor called “ESPACE” diagonally to your front-left. Take the path to its left.
- Turn right at the next T-junction. (You’ll see Shibuya 109 directly in front of you.)
- Continue straight, and you’ll come out onto the street where 109 is located. Once on the street, there’s a crosswalk to your right. Cross it to the street behind 109.
- Behind Shibuya 109, on the right side, you’ll find “Mizuho Bank” and further to the right, “Matsumoto Kiyoshi.” The A3a exit is immediately to the left of Mizuho Bank. If you walk down the path to the left of Matsumoto Kiyoshi, you’ll find the A3b exit on your left.
From the Inokashira Line ticket gate, it takes about 5 minutes to reach the A3 exits.
How to Get to A3 Exits (A3a, A3b) from Ginza Line Shibuya Station
The Ginza Line is a bit further. Make sure you exit from the correct ticket gate.
- First, exit from the “Scramble Square-side ticket gate” at the end of the platform. (Be careful, as there’s another ticket gate in the opposite direction.)
- After passing through the ticket gate, there will be ticket machines to your left, but there’s a passageway to their right. Go there.
- Once you enter the passageway, immediately turn left and proceed straight along the path.
- After walking for about 30 seconds, you’ll find an escalator. Take this down.
- After getting off the escalator, you’ll still be on the 2nd floor. There’s another escalator immediately to your right that goes down further. Take this one.
- After getting off this escalator, you’ll be on the ground level. Immediately turn right.
- Walk a short distance, and you’ll see “Miyamasuzaka-shita Intersection” in front of you. To your left, just before the intersection, is the JR “Miyamasuzaka Exit”. Enter the building from there.
- Continue straight, and you’ll reach the “Hachiko Exit” on the opposite side. Exit from there.
- After exiting from Hachiko Exit, walk straight ahead, and you’ll reach the “Scramble Crossing”. Cross the Scramble Crossing towards the TSUTAYA building with Starbucks.
- After crossing the intersection, turn left and walk towards Shibuya 109.
- Walk a short distance, and you’ll see a “Matsumoto Kiyoshi” drugstore at the front-right corner of 109.
- Pass Matsumoto Kiyoshi, and you’ll immediately see a building with Mizuho Bank. The A3a exit is in this Mizuho Bank building. If you turn right at Matsumoto Kiyoshi and walk a bit further, you’ll see the A6c exit past a vending machine on your left.
The Ginza Line is on the opposite side of the station from the A3 exits, making it the furthest. It takes about 7-8 minutes from the platform.
