The rooftop of Shibuya Fukuras is home to the SHIBU NIWA observation deck, and it’s available for free. What’s more, it features an adjacent bar, “BAO by CE LA VI Tokyo,” where you can enjoy the beautiful night view, making it ideal for a date! How to Get to SHIBU NIWA from Shibuya Station ① JR Lines

For JR lines, aim for the West Exit. While you can reach the West Exit from the Tamagawa, Central, or South gates, the South Gate is the easiest to find and recommended.

  1. From JR lines, exit via the South Gate, turn left, and head towards the West Exit.
  2. Once you’re out of the West Exit, cross the two crosswalks directly in front of you.
  3. Shibuya Fukuras will be straight ahead after you’ve crossed both crosswalks.
  4. You’ll see an escalator directly in front of you; take that upwards.
  5. After getting off the escalator, you’ll find elevators immediately to your right. Take one to the 17th floor, and you’ll arrive at SHIBU NIWA.

You can get to Shibuya Fukuras from JR Shibuya Station in about 2 minutes. Allow extra time for the elevator ride.


How to Get to SHIBU NIWA from Shibuya Station ② Hanzomon Line / Den-en-toshi Line

From the Hanzomon Line and Den-en-toshi Line, exit through the “Hachiko Gate” and first aim for the Hachiko statue.

  1. First, exit from the “Hachiko Gate.”
  2. After exiting the gate, turn right immediately.
  3. Immediately take the escalator marked with a large yellow sign that says “A8” upwards.
  4. After getting off the escalator, turn right immediately.
  5. Walk a little further, and you’ll see an escalator on your left. Take that upwards, and you’ll emerge onto ground level. That’s Hachiko Plaza.
  6. After getting off the escalator, the Hachiko statue will be to your right. Go under the elevated tracks behind it.
  7. There’s a crosswalk under the elevated tracks; cross it.
  8. After crossing the crosswalk, turn left immediately.
  9. Walk a short distance, and you’ll see Shibuya Fukuras, a building with a large LED screen, on your right.
  10. You’ll see an escalator directly in front of you; take that upwards.
  11. After getting off the escalator, you’ll find elevators immediately to your right. Take one to the 17th floor, and you’ll arrive at SHIBU NIWA.

You can get to Shibuya Fukuras from the Hanzomon Line and Den-en-toshi Line in about 3 to 4 minutes. Allow extra time for the elevator ride.


How to Get to SHIBU NIWA from Shibuya Station ③ Tokyu Toyoko Line / Fukutoshin Line

From the Tokyu Toyoko Line and Fukutoshin Line, first transfer to the Den-en-toshi Line platform, then use the “Hachiko Gate.”

  1. When you arrive at Shibuya Station on the Tokyu Toyoko Line, find the sign that says “DT Den-en-toshi Line H Hanzomon Line” from your platform and follow the directions to take the escalator up.
    • Other lines like JR and Ginza Line are also in the same direction.
  2. After getting off the escalator, follow the signs for “DT Den-en-toshi Line H Hanzomon Line.”
  3. Walk for about 1 minute, and you’ll find an escalator marked “DT Den-en-toshi Line H Hanzomon Line.” Take that upwards to reach the Den-en-toshi Line platform.
  4. Continue straight along the platform, and you’ll find an escalator with signs for JR lines, Ginza Line, and Hachiko Exit. Take that escalator upwards.
  5. After getting off the escalator, the “Hachiko Gate” will be diagonally behind you to the right. Exit from there.
  6. After exiting the gate, turn right immediately.
  7. Immediately take the escalator marked with a large yellow sign that says “A8” upwards.
  8. After getting off the escalator, turn right immediately.
  9. Walk a little further, and you’ll see an escalator on your left.
  10. Take that upwards, and you’ll emerge onto ground level. That’s Hachiko Plaza.

How to Get to SHIBU NIWA from Shibuya Station ④ Inokashira Line

From the Inokashira Line, use the “Central Gate.”

  1. Exit from the “Central Gate” of the Inokashira Line.
  2. Immediately after exiting, there’s an escalator diagonally to your front left. Take that downwards.
  3. After getting off the escalator, you’ll see a crosswalk directly in front of you. Don’t cross it; instead, turn right.
  4. Walk a short distance, and you’ll see Shibuya Fukuras, a building with a large LED screen, on your right.
  5. You’ll see an escalator directly in front of you; take that upwards.
  6. After getting off the escalator, you’ll find elevators immediately to your right. Take one to the 17th floor, and you’ll arrive at SHIBU NIWA.

How to Get to SHIBU NIWA from Shibuya Station ⑤ Ginza Line

From the Ginza Line, use the “Scramble Square-bound Gate.”

  1. Exit from the “Scramble Square-bound Gate” of the Ginza Line.
  2. After exiting the gate, there’s a path straight ahead and another path turning left just before it. Take the path to the left.
  3. Proceed for a while, and you’ll find stairs. Go down them.
  4. You’ll then arrive near the JR Central Gate. Follow the signs for the West Exit and go down the stairs.
  5. After descending the stairs, you’ll be at the West Exit. There’s a crosswalk nearby; cross it twice.
  6. Shibuya Fukuras will be directly in front of you after crossing both crosswalks.
  7. You’ll see an escalator directly in front of you; take that upwards.
  8. After getting off the escalator, you’ll find elevators immediately to your right. Take one to the 17th floor, and you’ll arrive at SHIBU NIWA.

You can get to Shibuya Fukuras from the Ginza Line in about 5 to 6 minutes. These are the directions from each train line. Allow extra time for the elevator ride.


SHIBU NIWA Opening Hours: 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM

SHIBU NIWA’s operating hours are from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM. It used to be open until 11:00 PM, but the hours were shortened due to the pandemic. The recommended time to visit is around sunset, which varies by season but is typically between 5:00 PM and 6:00 PM. However, it would be nice to be able to enjoy the night view a little longer!
