Shibuya Station’s B3 Exit Guide: From JR Yamanote, Inokashira, and Hanzomon Lines & Nearby Gates

Shibuya Station’s B3 Exit is an underground exit that leads out to the Miyamasuzaka-shita Intersection in front of the station. It is mainly used by those coming from the subway lines. It’s the perfect entry point if you’re heading toward the Miyamasuzaka or Harajuku areas.

Shibuya Station’s B3 Exit is on a Corner of the Miyamasuzaka-shita Intersection

The B3 Exit is located on the corner of the Miyamasuzaka-shita Intersection, where you can find stores like Bic Camera and Resona Bank. From the JR Shibuya Station, it’s right near the Miyamasuzaka Exit.

It is mainly used as an exit from the subway lines for those heading toward Harajuku, Omotesando, Cat Street, or the Miyamasuzaka area.


Main Spots Accessible from Shibuya Station’s B3 Exit

While the B1 Exit is slightly closer to Harajuku Station, the B3 Exit is still a good option.


Directions to B3 Exit from Hachiko Square

  1. From Hachiko Square, cross the Scramble Crossing using the crosswalk on the far right.
  2. Once you’ve crossed, turn right immediately and walk under the elevated train tracks.
  3. After passing under the tracks, you’ll soon come to a large intersection with traffic lights called Miyamasuzaka-shita Intersection.
  4. Cross the Miyamasuzaka-shita Intersection straight ahead, and then turn left immediately after you cross.
  5. You will see the B3 Exit straight ahead on your left. It’s right on the corner of the intersection after you cross.

Directions to B3 Exit from JR Shibuya Station

From JR lines like the Yamanote Line, it’s easier to get to the B3 Exit from the ground level. It’s a very short walk from the Miyamasuzaka Exit.

  1. Exit the JR Shibuya Station from the Hachiko Gate ticket barrier and head outside via the Miyamasuzaka Exit.
  2. The Miyamasuzaka-shita Intersection will be on your front-left. Go toward it.
  3. Cross the Miyamasuzaka-shita Intersection toward the Resona Bank building on the front-right.
  4. After you cross that crosswalk, cross the crosswalk on your left.
  5. You will see the B3 Exit a little ways ahead after you cross. It’s on the diagonal corner from the station.

Directions to B3 Exit from Hanzomon/Den-en-toshi Lines

Since the Hanzomon and Den-en-toshi lines run on the same tracks, you will arrive at the same platform. First, head toward the Miyamasuzaka-higashi Gate.

  1. Take the escalator at the very end of the platform (in the direction of Omotesando/Oshiage) up to the next floor.
  2. Exit through the nearby Miyamasuzaka-higashi Gate.
  3. After you exit, take the escalator on your front-right up to the next floor.
  4. When you reach the next floor, you’ll see another escalator right in front of you. Take it up to the ground level, and you will arrive at the B3 Exit.

It’s less than a minute’s walk from the Miyamasuzaka-higashi Gate to the B3 Exit.


Directions to B3 Exit from Tokyu Toyoko/Fukutoshin Lines

The Tokyu Toyoko and Fukutoshin lines are underground. Head toward the Miyamasuzaka-higashi Gate.

  1. First, exit the station from the Miyamasuzaka-higashi Gate.
  2. After you exit, take the escalator on your front-right up to the next floor.
  3. When you reach the next floor, you’ll see another escalator right in front of you. Take it up to the ground level, and you will arrive at the B3 Exit.

It’s less than a minute’s walk from the Miyamasuzaka-higashi Gate to the B3 Exit.


Directions to B3 Exit from Inokashira Line

From the Inokashira Line, it’s easier to go from the ground level. It’s about a 7 to 8-minute walk from the station to the B3 Exit.

  1. Exit from the Chuo Gate.
  2. After you exit, take the escalator on your front-left down to the ground level.
  3. Once you get off the escalator, turn left.
  4. Walk straight, and you will see the Scramble Crossing in front of you. Cross using the crosswalk on the far right.
  5. After you’ve crossed, turn right immediately and walk under the elevated train tracks.
  6. After passing under the tracks, you’ll soon come to a large intersection with traffic lights called Miyamasuzaka-shita Intersection.
  7. Cross the Miyamasuzaka-shita Intersection straight ahead. The B3 Exit will be on your immediate left after you cross.

Your first step is to head toward Hachiko Square and then make your way to the Miyamasuzaka-shita Intersection from there.


Directions to B3 Exit from Ginza Line

From the Ginza Line, it’s easiest to go from the ground level, so use the Scramble Square Gate. Be careful, as there is another gate in the opposite direction.

  1. First, make sure you exit from the Scramble Square Gate.
  2. After you exit, you’ll see ticket machines on your left. Take the passageway to the immediate right of the ticket machines.
  3. Turn left immediately and walk straight along the path.
  4. After about 30 seconds, you’ll come to an escalator. Take it down.
  5. When you get off the escalator, you will still be on the second floor. It’s a bit confusing, but you will see an escalator right on your immediate right. Take it down to the ground level.
  6. Once you get off the escalator, you will be on the ground level. Turn right immediately.
  7. After a short walk, you will see the Miyamasuzaka-shita Intersection in front of you. Cross the crosswalk straight ahead.
  8. After you cross that crosswalk, cross the crosswalk on your immediate right. You will find the B3 Exit on your immediate left after you cross.

The B3 Exit is easy to find and close to the station, located on the corner of the Miyamasuzaka-shita Intersection right in front of Shibuya Station.

If you are coming from the underground, it can be confusing to find if you don’t exit from the Miyamasuzaka-higashi Gate. If you happen to exit from another gate, it’s best to go to the ground level first. Also, from JR lines like the Yamanote Line and Inokashira Line, or the Ginza Line, it’s much simpler to use the ground-level route.
