Shibuya Station’s A5 exit is located right next to the Scramble Crossing. After you cross the street from the Hachiko statue towards SHIBUYA 109, it’s immediately on your left. The A5 exit is actually two separate entrances, A5a and A5b, but they lead to almost the same spot.

The A5 Exit is Across the Scramble Crossing towards 109
The A5 exit is located on the other side of the Scramble Crossing from the Hachiko statue, in the direction of SHIBUYA 109. It’s a convenient exit for reaching 109, Dogenzaka, Mark City, and the area around Fukuras and the South Exit.
It’s an especially important exit because it connects the subway lines (Hanzomon, Den-en-toshi, Tokyu Toyoko, and Fukutoshin lines) with the Keio Inokashira Line, which is located in the underground area near the exit.

Here are some of the main destinations you can easily get to from the A5 exit:
- Shibuya Mark City
- Keio Inokashira Line Shibuya Station
- SHIBUYA 109
- TOHO Cinemas Shibuya
- Shibuya Fukuras
- Dogenzaka
- Bic Camera Shibuya Hachiko Exit
- UNIQLO Shibuya Dogenzaka Store

This exit is perfect for when you’re taking the subway and need to get to the Inokashira Line, Shibuya Mark City, or the Dogenzaka area.
Directions from the Hachiko Statue to the A5 Exit (A5a, A5b)
Let’s start with the most common way: from the Hachiko statue.
- From the Hachiko statue, cross the Scramble Crossing using the far-left crosswalk towards SHIBUYA 109.
- Immediately after you cross, there will be an underground entrance on your left. This is the A5a exit. The A5b exit is just behind it.
The A5a exit is right as you finish crossing the street.
Directions from the JR Yamanote Line to the A5 Exit (A5a, A5b)
If you’re coming from a JR line (such as the Yamanote or Shonan-Shinjuku lines), use the Hachiko Exit.
- Exit through the JR Hachiko Ticket Gate and go outside through the nearby Hachiko Exit.
- You will find yourself in the Hachiko Square. From there, cross the Scramble Crossing using the far-left crosswalk towards SHIBUYA 109.
- Immediately after you cross, there will be an underground entrance on your left. This is the A5a exit. The A5b exit is just behind it.
Once you exit the Hachiko Gate, you’ll see SHIBUYA 109 straight ahead, so just walk towards it.
Directions from the Hanzomon Line / Den-en-toshi Line to the A5 Exit (A5a, A5b)
From the Hanzomon and Den-en-toshi lines, your goal is to get to the Hachiko Ticket Gate.
- Exit through the Hachiko Ticket Gate in the direction of the Keio Inokashira Line. (Be careful, there is another ticket gate on the opposite side.)
- After you exit the gate, you’ll see an escalator and stairs on your front-left. Go up one floor to B1F.
- On B1F, take the narrow walkway immediately to your left.
- Walk a short distance and you’ll see stairs in front of you. Go up, then turn left to go up another set of stairs. The stairs for the A5 exit will be on your immediate right.
From the platform, it should take you about 2–3 minutes.
Directions from the Tokyu Toyoko Line / Fukutoshin Line to the A5 Exit (A5a, A5b)
From the Tokyu Toyoko and Fukutoshin lines, first make your way to the Hanzomon / Den-en-toshi Line platform, then head for the Hachiko Ticket Gate.
- Go up one floor from the Tokyu Toyoko / Fukutoshin Line platform, then transfer to the Hanzomon / Den-en-toshi Line platform.
- Take the stairs from the Hanzomon / Den-en-toshi Line platform up to the Hachiko Ticket Gate.
- Exit through the Hachiko Ticket Gate in the direction of the Keio Inokashira Line. (Be careful, there is another ticket gate on the opposite side.)
- After you exit the gate, you’ll see an escalator and stairs on your front-left. Go up one floor to B1F.
- On B1F, take the narrow walkway immediately to your left.
- Walk a short distance and you’ll see stairs in front of you. Go up, then turn left to go up another set of stairs. The stairs for the A5 exit will be on your immediate right.
There are two Hachiko Ticket Gates, so be sure to take the one that leads in the right direction.
Directions from the Keio Inokashira Line to the A5 Exit (A5a, A5b)
From the Keio Inokashira Line, use the ticket gate labeled with a yellow sign that says “Exit (Chuo-guchi).”
- Exit through the Chuo-guchi Ticket Gate.
- After you exit the gate, there will be an escalator on your front-left. Take it down to ground level.
- At the bottom of the escalator, cross the crosswalk on your front-left. (There’s a Sundrug on the corner.)
- Walk a short distance after you cross, and you’ll see the A5b exit on your right. The A5a exit is a little further ahead.
From the ticket gate, the A5 exit is only about a 2–3 minute walk.
Directions from the Ginza Line to the A5 Exit (A5a, A5b)
From the Ginza Line, use the ticket gate for “Scramble Square.”
- From the Ginza Line platform, head towards the Scramble Square Ticket Gate. (Be careful, there is another ticket gate on the opposite side.)
- After you exit the gate, there will be ticket machines to your left. Take the path to the right of them.
- Enter the path and immediately turn left, then walk straight.
- After about 30 seconds, you’ll see an escalator. Take it down.
- You’ll be on the 2nd floor. Immediately to your right is another escalator. Take it down to ground level.
- Once you get to the ground floor, immediately turn right.
- After a short walk, you’ll see the Miyamasuzaka-shita Intersection. Before you reach it, on your left, is the JR Miyamasuzaka Exit. Go inside the building.
- Walk straight through the building until you reach the Hachiko Exit on the opposite side, then go outside.
- You will find yourself in the Hachiko Square. From there, cross the Scramble Crossing using the far-left crosswalk towards SHIBUYA 109.
- Immediately after you cross, there will be an underground entrance on your left. This is the A5a exit. The A5b exit is just behind it.
The Ginza Line is the furthest from the A5 exit, so it will take about 7-8 minutes from the platform.
