How to Get to Hikarie from Shibuya Station ① JR Yamanote Line

When heading to Hikarie from JR lines, you should exit from the “Central Gate.” You’ll arrive in less than 5 minutes from the JR Yamanote Line platform.

  1. From the JR Yamanote Line platform, go up the stairs or escalator and aim for the “Central Gate.”
  2. There are two Central Gates (one in front and one on the right), so exit from the one on the right.
  3. After exiting the gate, go straight. You’ll see an escalator going down to your front left. Take it.
  4. After getting off the escalator, you’ll be on the 2nd floor. There’s a passage directly in front of you that leads to Hikarie. Go straight along it, and you’ll arrive at Hikarie. From JR, you’ll arrive on the 2nd floor of Hikarie.

How to Get to Hikarie from Shibuya Station ② Hanzomon Line / Den-en-toshi Line

When heading to Hikarie from the Hanzomon Line or Den-en-toshi Line, the direct exit to use is the “Shibuya Hikarie 1 Gate.” Be careful not to exit to the outside, as it’s separate from the regular gates.

  1. From the Hanzomon Line/Den-en-toshi Line platform, go up to the gate level. You’ll see the Miyamasu-zaka East Gate in front and the Miyamasu-zaka Central Gate on the right, but do not exit from either. Instead, proceed to the right.
  2. Take the escalator down at the end of the passage.
  3. After getting off the escalator, you’ll see a hemispherical object in front of you. Go around it from the left side, and you’ll find the “Shibuya Hikarie 1 Gate.”
  4. After exiting the gate, proceed diagonally to your front left, and you’ll be at Hikarie.

How to Get to Hikarie from Shibuya Station ③ Toyoko Line / Fukutoshin Line

For the Toyoko Line and Fukutoshin Line, the exit is also the “Shibuya Hikarie 1 Gate.”

  1. From the platform, you’ll need to take two escalators up to reach the Shibuya Hikarie 1 Gate. Follow the signs as you go.
  2. After exiting the Shibuya Hikarie 1 Gate, proceed diagonally to your front left, and you’ll be at Hikarie. It’s quite close to Hikarie from the Toyoko Line/Fukutoshin Line. You’ll arrive in just a few minutes from the platform.

How to Get to Hikarie from Shibuya Station ④ Inokashira Line

For the Inokashira Line, exit from the “Central Gate.” (Look for the yellow sign that says “Exit (Central Gate).”)

This is the furthest route from the Inokashira Line, and it might take about 7 minutes from the platform. Be careful, as the connecting passages can be quite crowded.

  1. Exit from the “Central Gate” of the Inokashira Line.
  2. After exiting the gate, go straight. You’ll see “Taro Okamoto’s large mural” on your right. Go through the passage that leads under it, to the right.
  3. Continue straight. You’ll see a passage going straight ahead on your front right, but turn left there.
  4. Follow the path until you reach a dead end, then turn left.
  5. There will be stairs immediately. Go up them. (Note: You’ll make a turn to the right midway up the stairs.)
  6. After climbing the stairs, go straight.
  7. After walking for a while, you’ll see signs for the “JR Central Gate.” Proceed diagonally to your front right in that direction.
  8. You’ll come out into an open area. Continue straight, and you’ll see the entrance to Shibuya Scramble Square diagonally to your front right, but do not enter it; continue straight.
  9. Follow the path, and you’ll find an escalator going down. Take it.
  10. After getting off the escalator, you’ll be on the 2nd floor. There’s a passage directly in front of you that leads to Hikarie. Go straight along it, and you’ll arrive at Hikarie. From the Inokashira Line, you’ll arrive on the 2nd floor of Hikarie.

How to Get to Hikarie from Shibuya Station ⑤ Ginza Line

For the Ginza Line, exit from the “Shibuya Scramble Square Exit.”

  1. From the platform, proceed towards the “Shibuya Scramble Square Exit” and exit the gate. (Be careful, as there’s also a gate on the opposite side of the platform.)
  2. After exiting the gate, proceed to the passage immediately to the right of the ticket machines on your left.
  3. Shibuya Scramble Square will be on your right, but continue straight along the path, and you’ll find an escalator going down. Take it.
  4. After getting off the escalator, you’ll be on the 2nd floor. There’s a passage directly in front of you that leads to Hikarie. Go straight along it, and you’ll arrive at Hikarie. From the Ginza Line, you’ll arrive on the 2nd floor of Hikarie.

Shibuya Hikarie Opening Hours

Shibuya Hikarie’s opening hours vary by area.

  • The regular area, from B3F to 5F, is open from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM.
  • The restaurant area on 6F-8F and 11F is open from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM.
  • Additionally, the creative space on the 8th floor is open from 11:30 AM to 8:00 PM.

Shibuya Station and Hikarie are directly connected, but the direct connection is mainly from the subway lines, and it’s easiest if you use the “Shibuya Hikarie 1 Gate.”
